Here at the Global Book Exchange, we are all volunteers, so please be understanding when you come to get books or bring us books. We are not like a full-service bookstore, but we always do our best to help you, and we appreciate your patience and support.

Help Teachers

Whether you are an individual or a big organization, you can help get books free to a teacher,  a whole school, or even a whole school district. As you’ve read in other places on this website, we are amply supplied with books to give, but because of our $3,000/month rent commitment, we are  obligated to ask for small monetary donations for our services. Truly, we wish we didn’t have to. We know that, often (probably most often), teachers cover expenses for student supplies out of their own pockets. Schools are so financially strapped at this time, teachers just don’t even bother with asking for reimbursement. Yet we still need to ask for donations to keep the Global Book Exchange doors open.

Here’s where you or your club can help — bigtime!

1. You can “prepay” donations on behalf of particular individuals (like a teacher) or entities (like a school or a homeless shelter). The beneficiaries of your dollars can then come to the Global Book Exchange anytime and just take what they need. It’s simple, and it’s a great way to help our organization and your favorite teachers at the same time.

2. You can buy a Gift Certificate for a box or two of books. Good anytime, with no expiration date.

Please contact Marilyn for more information about gift certificates or about our sponsorship program:
